Police: Obama Detractors and Runaway Dogs
The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Wednesday, Sept. 26
10:27 a.m.- An anonymous caller reported two men sitting outside the McDonald's at 308 Great Road holding signs referencing President Obama that she found offensive. The caller was requesting the men be removed. Responding officers found the two men at Dunkin Donuts holding their signs behind a table they had set up. The officers spoke with the men to make sure they would stay out of the way of traffic, noting this was a first amendment, not a police issue.
5:38 p.m.- A resident of Hemlock Lane reported there was a car parked on the street, and as it was rush hour, was causing a delay in traffic. Responding officers surveyed the street and reported there were no parking restrictions on Hemlock Lane, and that there was nowhere else to park nearby.

9:31 p.m.- Police received a call reporting three females inhaling the duster at Northside Convenience. Responding officers spoke with the caller who reported the women had left in an unknown vehicle heading north on Carlisle Road. Officers remained at Northside Convenience to see if the vehicle returned.

7:45 a.m.- A resident of Dudley Road reported a large pile of debris in the middle of the street. The responding officer was able to move the debris from the road.
12:40 p.m.- Police received reports of a loud engine idling for a long period of time near 110 Great Road. The responding officer spoke with the owner of the vehicle, who agreed to turn off his engine.
12:49 p.m.- A resident of Winchester Drive reported that there dog had run away. The dog was described as a husky without tags.
2:11 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near 200 Great Road. The pedestrian was transported to Lahey Clinic.
