Police: Phantom Coyotes and a Dog Named Miles Davis

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Wednesday, Oct. 10

6:33 p.m.- A caller notified police of a pothole in front of 103 Page Road. The responding officer blocked off the pothole with a barrel and notified the Department of Public Works.

11:29 p.m.- A caller notified the Bedford Police Department a vehicle not belonging to a resident would remained parked at 4000 Taylor Pond Lane overnight. The caller requested the car not be towed. BPD notified the caller he would have to contact the building manager in the morning.

Thursday, Oct. 11

4:51 a.m.- Police received a call reporting the sound of jackhammering coming from the area of 52 Meadowbrook Road. Officers responded but found nothing in the area.

6:49 a.m.- Police received a call reporting a disabled motor vehicle on the off ramp of Route 3 southbound on Route 62. Responding officers reported the driver had called AAA.

9:59 a.m.- A caller requested police assistance with a vehicle that was not parked in a marked area on Taylor Pond Lane. Prior to dispatching officers, the caller called BPD back and reported the car had a dead battery and the problem was being resolved.

10:31 a.m.- An individual came into BPD to report a dog that is allowed in the area of the bus stop on Neillian Way. An officer advised the individual to avoid engaging with it in the future.

11:39 a.m.- Police received a call reporting two coyotes in the area of South Road and Tilden Street. Animal Control searched the area but could not find the coyotes.

2:14 p.m.- A resident of Moore Circle came into BPD to report a suspicious vehicle that they had seen on the street often. 

4:24 p.m.- Police received a call from a resident of Hayden Lane. The caller reported they had found ammunition.

7:01 p.m.- A resident of South Road reported their dog, a brown and white jack russell terrier wearing a collar and a leash, had run away. The dog answers to Miles Davis. The owner wanted the call to be logged in case anyone found the dog.

9:11 p.m.- A caller reported several wooden planks across the street on North Road at Wellington Way. The responding officer could not find any hazards in the road.
