Police: Runaway Rowboats and Borrowed Cars

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Tuesday, Oct. 2

11:31 a.m.- A resident of Fawn Circle reported to police that someone had cut a tree down without permission, and had cut the rope anchoring his rowboat to the shore. The boat had floated out to the middle of Fawn Lake. 

12:53 p.m.- Police received a complaint of an outside fire across the street from 443 North Road. Responding officers spoke with the individuals responsible for the fire, which was extinguished immediately.

3:27 p.m.- Police received an anonymous call reporting the smell of marijuana inside the Bedford Plaza Hotel . 

4:16 p.m.- A caller reported a vehicle being operated erratically in the area of North Road and Pine Hill. Responding officers searched the area, but could not locate the vehicle.

6:02 p.m.- A caller reported to police that his car had been borrowed by a friend and had not yet been returned. Officers responded, and the car was found at 27 Crescent Avenue at 10 p.m.

8:17 p.m.- Police received a call from a guest at the Bedford Plaza Hotel reporting someone had called him a derogatory name. Officers responded, and confirmed the two parties had worked out the arguement prior to his arrival.
