“Affordable, flexible and high-quality education is what we are offering to all of our students at Middlesex Community College this upcoming Spring 2022 semester,” said Scott O’Neil, MCC’s Dean of Enrollment Services.

MCC’s Spring 2022 semester is now registering for classes starting on Monday, January 24. During the Spring session, students can choose from on campus, online and hybrid options to fit their schedules and meet their needs.

In order to enhance student learning, the college also offers lab, clinical, internship and Service-Learning experiences. These opportunities allow students to apply the theoretical knowledge and skills they learn in lectures to practical, real-life work. Students may also gain networking and mentoring opportunities by engaging with the community.

“Our students bring with them diverse backgrounds, interests and goals, and it is the college’s responsibility to help them use these experiences to advance them on their individual paths to success,” O’Neil said. “Whether students are planning to directly enter the workforce or transfer to a four-year college or university, Middlesex provides the education, support and extracurricular opportunities to help set them up for success in ways that work best for them.”

At Middlesex, students can access a wide-range of student support services. They can choose to visit offices on campus in Bedford or Lowell, take advantage of online resources, or use a combination of both options. Student services including advising, tutoring and financial planning lend to the short- and long-term success of students.

Faculty and staff specializing in academic, career and transfer advising can guide students through their time at Middlesex and beyond. MCC advisors help students plan their time at the college, including choosing which classes to take to meet their program needs, go through all of the steps they need to transfer to their next school, and navigate career tools to find a job or internship.

Through the Academic Centers for Enrichment (ACE), Middlesex offers one-on-one and group peer tutoring. Students can meet with student leaders in person or via Zoom to go over valuable study skills, help with Blackboard navigation, or cover course-specific topics. ACE’s peer tutors and Supplemental Instructors are trained to help students develop their own skills and critical thinking, as well as feel more confident in a subject.

Financial aid can help students pay for the costs of attending MCC, including tuition and fees, books, living and personal expenses, and transportation. The Office of Financial Aid will help students complete a FAFSA, understand what types of aid they qualify for, choose payment options, and set up a payment plan. Online financial services make viewing and paying bills easy, allowing students to get refunds faster with direct deposit.

Please note that Middlesex requires all students to be vaccinated in order to come to campus, as of January 2022. Students who are unvaccinated can still choose to take online classes and access online resources and student support services.

As part of the Spring session, Middlesex is also running two Mini-mester sessions. The first starts on Monday, January 24, while Mini-mester II begins Monday, March 28. Courses cover the same content, academic standards and number of instructional hours as courses scheduled in the traditional 15-week semester.
