Selectmen Recap: Oct. 15

The Selectmen heard from the Regional Housing Services Office for a monitoring report and update.

Members of the Bedford Chamber of Commerce presented economic development goals to the Selectmen. Member of the Board of Directors for the Bedford COC and chairman of the Business Development Committee, Adam Schwartz, addressed what Town officials can do to attract businesses, and specifically small businesses, to the Bedford community.

Monday night's meeting was also the last opportunity for the Selectmen to make changes to the warrant for the Nov. 13 special town meeting, which includes articles on installing a synthetic turf field at Bedford High School. The decision on whether to include the turfing project on the warrant for the special town meeting comes after the Outdoor Recreation Area Study Committee submitted a report to the Selectmen which found a shortage of athletic fields in Bedford.
