Stolen U-Haul Leads Police On I-95 Chase, Gets Away
The U-Haul was allegedly trying to steal from church donation boxes in Bedford.

BEDFORD, MA — A U-Haul believed to be stolen led police on a chase down I-95 Saturday evening. The U-Haul was spotted around 5 p.m. near a donation bin at a Bedford church; The donation boxes have been targeted in the past by criminals.
Bedford Police Chief Robert Bongiorno said the U-Haul left the church before police arrived. The van was spotted shortly after on Great Road, but allegedly refused to stop for police.
The van started to drive in a "dangerous manner," police said, nearly hitting a cruiser. The pursuit continued to I-95 South, where police called it off around Exit 19B in Needham due to a concern for public safety.

Police believe the U-Haul was reported stolen for failure to return.
