Students Enjoy a Challenge in MCC’s Commonwealth Honors Program

The Commonwealth Honors Program (CHP) at Middlesex Community College offers unique learning opportunities for students who elect to study at a more advanced level.
Part of an integrated network of honors programs throughout the Massachusetts public college and university system, MCC’s Commonwealth Honors Program offers a variety of honors course options. It also enable students the opportunity to master research and presentation techniques, and engage in extra and co-curricular activities, including field trips and guest lectures.
Registration is now open for fall-semester courses at Middlesex. Classes begin Wednesday, Sept. 4, on the Bedford and Lowell campuses, and online. “The Commonwealth Honors Program is a great place for students who want to be fully engaged in their intellectual enterprise to learn as much as possible about the world around them,” said MCC History Professor David Kalivas, CHP Director.
Students who complete their degrees through CHP are guaranteed transfer to other Commonwealth Honors Programs at any state college or university, or can enhance their applications for other four-year public or private institutions.

Honors graduates have transferred to top schools, including Boston University, Chapman University, Columbia University, Salem State University, Skidmore College, UMass Amherst Honors College, UMass Lowell, and the University of Virginia, among others.
