Take Advantage of FREE High School Equivalency Exam Prep at MCC
MCC offers free noncredit, basic education courses for Mass. adult learners who are 16+, including prep courses for the GED® & HiSET® exams
Middlesex Community College strives to make education more accessible for every student. Through the Adult Learning Center (ALC), Middlesex offers free noncredit, basic education courses for Massachusetts adult learners who are 16+. This includes preparation courses to sit for the GED® and HiSET® exams, which Mass. residents can now take at no cost to them.
“The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has announced that the state is now covering the cost of Massachusetts residents’ initial GED® and HiSET® tests in each subject, plus two retakes,” said Katherine Innis, MCC’s Program Director of the ALC. “With free testing and free preparation courses such as those offered at the MCC Adult Learning Center, obtaining a high school credential has become far more equitable for all adults in the state.”
MCC’s ALC is designed to help adult learners improve their literacy, mathematics and computing schools in order to earn a high school equivalency. Through MCC’s program and successful completion of the exams, students are placed in a better position to continue their education and advance in their careers.
