The town is looking for a police officer, a kids club leader and more.

Land Maintenance Summer Workers

Teens are wanted to work at Hanscom Field. Applicants must be from Bedford, Concord, Lexington or Lincoln and enrolled in high school, college or a post graduate program. Candidates with background in conservation land management are particularly invited to apply.

The five-week program begins in mid-July.

Lateral Transfer Police Officer

Applicants must have at least one year of experience being a full-time patrol officer with a Massachusetts Civil Service police department. They must also have graduated from a full time Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee Academy.

Additional requirements for applicants include: excellent attendance in their career, release from their department for the transfer, live within 10 miles of Bedford and have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license in good standing.

Group Leader, Bedford Recreation Kids’ Club

The position is responsible for planning and facilitating activities for school-age children of all ages and abilities. Applicants must be able to work well with all age groups. Experience is a plus.

Requirements: CPR and First Aid certified (or the ability to become certified), be a team player, and if hired be willing to undergo a criminal (CORI) and DSS background checks.

School year hours are Monday to Friday 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Starting pay is $12 per hour.

Traffic Supervisor – Bedford Police

The town of Bedford seeks traffic supervisors, who will be responsible for directing traffic to protect the safety of the public. Candidates should have knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations. And also of Police Department regulations, polices and procedures for directing traffic.

Requirements include having a high school diploma or GED, and training in CPR. They also must be a Full-Time Police Officer Academy Graduate, or compete a Reserve Intermittent Training Course. Also they must have a Class D driver’s license and possess or be able to obtain a license to carry a fire arm and maintain qualification.

This is an unpaid position.
