May 8 tribute to the songs of Billy Joel & Elton John will feature a 30-piece orchestra – proceeds to benefit MCC student scholarships

Tickets are on sale now for "Piano Men – The Music of Elton & Billy," Middlesex Community College’s spring fundraiser, to be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, in the Lowell Memorial Auditorium.
"Piano Men" is a tribute to the songs of Billy Joel and Elton John. The concert combines a four-piece pop group, featuring Joe Boucher on piano and vocals, with a 30-piece orchestra conducted by MCC faculty member Orlando Cela and featuring select Middlesex music students.

“ 'Piano Men' promises to be a wonderful evening featuring some of the most iconic pop music of recent times – as well as a stunning showcase for our talented music faculty and students,” said MCC President James Mabry. “Supporting this scholarship-fundraising concert will positively impact Middlesex students who seek to change their lives through education.”
Student Mark Andrews, of Methuen, winner of a 2019 scholarship, concurs. “It’s an honor to be awarded the Performing Arts Scholarship by the MCC Foundation and to be recognized for my involvement with the Theatre Program. This scholarship encourages me to continue my education, knowing that I have the confidence of the college and my department leaders behind me.”
