1 Hospitalized In Beverly Mansion Armed Home Invasion

Police said the victim was tied up during the robbery, which included a vehicle theft, on Saturday.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly police on Sunday were searching for a suspect accused of staging a home invasion of a Paine Avenue mansion, tying up the home's occupant and stealing a vehicle.

Police Chief John LeLacheur said police responded to the historic estate at about 8:50 a.m. on Saturday after a neighbor reported the suspected home invasion.

LeLacheur said an investigation determined that an armed suspect broke into the home, tied up the resident, and stole several items. The suspect is also accused of stealing a vehicle that was used to get away from the scene.

Police said the vehicle was located but that the suspect remained at large as of Sunday morning.

The victim was treated at Beverly Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident remains under investigation by the Beverly Police Department, with assistance from Massachusetts State Police.
