3 Charged In Beverly Cocaine, Fentanyl Trafficking Drug Bust: Police
Beverly police said the Beverly man and two men from Lawrence were charged after nearly 100 grams of fentanyl were seized.
BEVERLY, MA — Three men are facing drug trafficking charges after Beverly police said that an investigation into narcotics sales in the Broadway section of the city lead to the seizure of nearly 100 grams of fentanyl and 14 grams of cocaine on Monday night.
Police said Francis Alberto Carmona-Lara, 29, of Lawrence was charged with fentanyl trafficking, cocaine distribution, refusing to produce identification and was arrested on an outstanding warrant, Juan Suarez-Lara, 38, of Lawrence was charged with fentanyl trafficking, cocaine distribution, refusing identification, unlicensed motor vehicle operation and found to have three outstanding warrants, and that Paul Farrar, 50, of Beverly was charged with fentanyl trafficking.
Police said a Honda CRV was seen parking next to a dumpster in a Broadway parking lot and that officers saw a man leave the building adjacent to the lot, enter the backseat of the car, then leave the car and walk back toward the apartment building.

Police said they recovered "a baggy containing approximately 68 grams of fentanyl from the man identified as Farrar, who had exited the vehicle." Police said the two men in the SUV both provided false Dominican Republic driver's licenses and were properly identified during the booking process.
Police said 98 grams of fentanyl and 14 grams of cocaine were seized, along with $2,300 in cash.

Both men in the car were scheduled to be arraigned in Salem District Court.
Beverly Police Chief John LeLacheur also revealed during Monday night's City Council meeting that one police cruiser broke down on the way to assisting at the scene as the city sought a transfer of funds to buy two new emergency response vehicles.
