IPSWICH, MA — The Northeast Massachusetts Youth Orchestras will present An Afternoon of Spring Concerts on Sunday, featuring some of the North Shore's top young musicians from Beverly, Danvers, Marblehead, Peabody and Swampscott.
The organization has scheduled two free performances, with the first concert beginning at 2 p.m. and the second at 4 p.m. at the Dolan Performing Arts Center, 130 High Street, in Ipswich.
The 2 p.m. concert will feature the NMYO Prelude String Ensemble, Overture String Ensemble and Intermezzo Orchestra. The 4 p.m. concert will spotlight the group’s advanced ensembles, the Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra.
The concerts will include both classical and modern music. The program will feature works by Holst, John Williams, Tchaikovsky and others.
People who cannot attend in person will also be able to watch from home. The concerts will be livestreamed on NMYO’s YouTube channel.
Both concerts are free and open to the public.
