IPSWICH, MA — Ipswich-based True North Ales and Greenbelt have partnered on a limited-edition craft beer inspired by Essex County's natural landscapes, with a portion of sales set to support Greenbelt's land conservation work and efforts to expand access to nature in the region.

Greenbelt Pilsner is a German-style pilsner brewed with locally harvested wildflower honey. It will debut during a launch celebration at the True North Ales Taproom in Ipswich on June 5 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Guests will be able to try the new beer, connect with Greenbelt supporters, and buy a collectible Greenbelt Pilsner glass for an additional $5 while supplies last. Four-packs with custom-designed labels also will be sold.

The collaboration grew out of Greenbelt's NextGen Committee, which focuses on engaging the next generation of conservation supporters through land stewardship, community-building, and expanding equitable access to nature. The committee has organized hikes, trail cleanups and social gatherings since launching last year to build awareness and support for Greenbelt’s mission.

"From the start, this collaboration felt like a natural fit," said Gary Rogers, Founder of True North Ales. "We’ve had a long-standing relationship with Greenbelt that's rooted in our shared commitment to protecting the environment and strengthening the local community. Supporting Greenbelt's conservation work benefits everyone who calls this area home."

Brendan Pescatore of Beverly, a member of Greenbelt’s NextGen Committee, said the partnership also helped introduce the organization’s work to more people.

"Being involved with the NextGen Committee has created some incredibly fulfilling opportunities, and this collaboration with True North Ales is a great example," Pescatore said. "We were able to create a quality product that incorporates local ingredients and flavors while also introducing Greenbelt’s mission to a wider audience.

"It's been a fun and meaningful way to connect with people and organizations in the community who care deeply about conservation and making a tangible impact."

After the launch event, Greenbelt Pilsner will remain on tap at True North Ales while supplies last.

Limited quantities will also be available at select Greenbelt events during the season, including Art in the Barn, Tour de Greenbelt, and NextGen gatherings.
