Beverly Butcher Shop To Reopen This Weekend Under New Ownership

The Corner Butcher Shop in Beverly closed in February after 11 years on Elliott Street.

BEVERLY, MA — A Beverly butcher shop that closed in February after 11 years on Elliott Street is set to open under new ownership this weekend.

The new owners announced on social media on Thursday that the Corner Butcher Shop will officially reopen for business on Friday at 10 a.m.

"It's happening," the new owners said. "In addition to the high-quality meats and poultry we carried before, we will also be cooking up some delicious food on the grill.

"Come on by and check out our newly renovated store."

The new owners had been teasing the reopening for several weeks on social media, including the new oven and renovations to the space — even presenting an April Fool's joke that it would reopen as a vegan butcher shop with "100% meatless madness."

The previous owners cited the expiration of the lease and the desire to "move on to something new" as the reason for the announced closure during Super Bowl weekend, which was followed by a weeks-long liquidation sale.
