Beverly's Rhonda Wallace Honored With North Shore Chamber's 2026 Diamond Award

BEVERLY, MA — Rhonda Wallace of Beverly was one of six women honored with the 2026 Diamond Award last month as the North Shore Chamber of Commerce gathered at the Salem Waterfront Hotel.

Wallace, who has worked with the YMCA of the North Shore since 1987, was recognized for leadership, service and her long role supporting the organization's growth.

In addition to Wallace, the 2026 Diamond Award recipients were Lauren Belmonte, Dr. Mary Boyd, Kayla Nassar, Rachel Retos and Heidi Walsh.

Each honoree represents women creating change through innovative work, compassionate service, bold leadership and commitment to their communities.

Wallace joined the YMCA in 1987 at Beverly's Sterling YMCA Welcome Center. The YMCA of the North Shore said that after the regional organization formed in 1999, Wallace's responsibilities expanded with it. After serving on the marketing team, she was promoted in 2004 to executive assistant to the president and CEO.

Over the next two decades, Wallace served as executive assistant to the YMCA of the North Shore's only two presidents and CEOs, Jack Meany and Chris Lovasco. Her contributions have made her a trusted advisor, problem solver, organizational leader, and a steady presence for board members, executives, employees, volunteers, donors and community partners.

As a Beverly resident, Wallace also helped with the transformation of the Gloucester Crossing neighborhood, according to the YMCA. She volunteered during the cleanup of 13 aging properties and also helped manage development documents and administrative work tied to the project. The effort helped turn neglected properties into new affordable homes.

"She possesses a rare combination of humility, integrity, compassion, wisdom, and unwavering professionalism. She is the person others naturally turn to because they know she will listen thoughtfully, offer sound advice, and always put the organization's mission and the needs of others first. Her greatest strength is her ability to empower those around her.
