Local artist Constance Lafond has a busy fall and holiday season ahead, with work on view in three North Shore communities: a gallery show in Gloucester, an art show and sale in Melrose, and open studios in Beverly.
In Gloucester, Lafond has 10 paintings in a gallery show at the Sawyer Free Library's beautiful new gallery space. The show, featuring five different artists, closes on November 13.
Her annual art show and sale at the Beebe Estate in Melrose opens with a reception on Friday, November 6 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The show, titled "Expressive Visions," features Lafond alongside three other local artists: Karen Poon, Elaina Bates Egan, and Samantha Barthelemy. The gallery at 235 West Foster Street, Melrose, is open Saturdays in November from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Lafond will also have her women's fashions, made in Canada with her art, on view.
Coming up in December, Lafond holds her annual Porter Mill Open Studios at 95 Rantoul Street in Beverly, where she is on the second floor. The open studios run December 5 and 6 from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., a chance to buy direct from the artist and get a start on holiday shopping.
Her work can also be found in the Beverly area at Offerings, a shop at 719 Hale Street in Beverly Farms. Owner Christina's shop brings together home, garden, gifting, and community, and carries Lafond's wearable art women's clothing, cards, prints, and small original paintings.
