Armed Robbery Arrest

Beverly Police arrested a 24-year-old local man this week in connection with two recent armed robberies in the area of Mill Street and Ropes Street.

Wallace Lee Jones III 24, of Beverly was arrested for two counts of armed robbery, according to Beverly Police.. Jones also had three outstanding warrants.

The robbery charges stem from a report of a robbery involving a handgun just before 11 Monday night. Officers responded to the home of one the victims, and learned that he and a friend had been robbed of a small amount of money and two cell-phones.

Jones III was identified by one of the victims, according to authorities.
