Art Students Spin-Off with Cape Ann Museum
Montserrat students collaborate with Cape Ann Museum to create an exciting new exhibition.

Spin-Off is an exciting new collaboration between Beverly’s Montserrat College of Art and the Cape Ann Museum in Gloucester inspired by a course at Montserrat.
The exhibition of student work will be on display at the Museum from November 20 through December 3 with an opening reception on Friday, November 20 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at 27 Pleasant Street in Gloucester.
The 15-week class focuses on the connections between the region’s art, the environment and the economy, with learning experiences offered both in and outside of the classroom. Students tour the landscape, which has inspired creativity and industry for hundreds of years. And they examine the art and objects on exhibit at the Museum, all of which are inspired by Cape Ann. The culmination of the class is a “spinning off,” the creation of visual responses to this immersive experience.
