BEVERLY, MA — A group of Beverly eighth-graders are hoping to turn your old and unused electric equipment into some experiences they will collectively carry with them into their high school years.

The class is helping organize an electronics recycling event with Circuitry Recycling in the Beverly Middle School parking lot on April 22. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with money raised going toward supporting the eighth grade class's end-of-the-year events.

"We had a successful event last year and it really showed the community need for electronic
recycling, so we decided to run the event again this year," PTO representative Leah Toppin, who is helping coordinate the event with fellow PTO members Christine Porcello and Sue Geary, told Patch. "We are getting help from eighth graders and parents as well as the The Green Team (environmental) at the middle school, who is graciously volunteering time and effort to make this successful again."
