Crowd Funding Campaigns from Vision to Viral Lunch and Learn

(Beverly)- The Beverly Community Council (BCC) is hosting its December Luncheon on Successful Crowd-Funding Campaigns in Beverly, Thursday, December 10th, 2015 at the Beverly Council on Aging, 90 Colon Street in Beverly, from 12:00-1:30pm. Join John and Andrew Frates of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, a representative of Beverly High School DECA of Riley Rocks and a representative of Deb Debski’s Help Give Life to Deb to learn about crowd-funding campaigns that started in Beverly & grew to earn recognition beyond our city limits.

The Beverly Community Council’s mission is to foster communication and cooperation between members and the greater Beverly community. Through education, advocacy, and action, the Beverly Community Council has anticipated and met the needs of its residents by teaming up with nonprofits and local government agencies.

“Increasingly both individuals and organizations are turning to crowd-funding campaigns to reach new audiences for their mission. The Beverly Community Council panel will hear from successful campaigns that started in Beverly and pick up some of the best practices to bring back to the office,” said Sarah Bartley, of United Way and President of the BCC.

Membership to the BCC is $10 for individuals and $15 for organizations. There is a $5.00 lunch fee for non-members. A portion of these proceeds will go to the panelists’ organizations.
