Beverly To Consider Community Preservation Fund Candidates
A virtual, public meeting will be held Oct. 8 to solicit feedback and outline the types of properties eligible for the program.
BEVERLY, MA — As the Beverly Community Preservation Committee prepares to launch its next funding program for programs in the city, the committee will hold a public meeting on Oct. 8 to gain feedback on the types of projects it should consider and what types of projects are eligible.]
The program, which Beverly adopted through the Community Preservation Act in 2012, is funded through a surcharge on residential property over the first $100,000 with state matching funds.

The four types of projects eligible under the program are open space, recreation, historic preservation and community housing.
Beverly has used the funds for 57 projects in the past eight years. Projects can include purchasing property to retain as open space, preservation of documents and restorations of properties and structures.

Past recipients of the funding will discuss their projects and provide insights into the application process. Residents are encouraged to share what types of projects mean the most to them as a community.
