Beverly Fire Crews Battle 2 Tough Blazes Tuesday

Crews were ordered out of the building as a fire at Cabot and Swan streets reached three alarms Tuesday afternoon.

BEVERLY, MA — It was a busy day for Beverly fire crews on Tuesday as crews battled a basement fire on Chase Street in the morning and then a blaze on Swan Street in the afternoon that hit three alarms.

Emergency services reported fire crews were ordered out of the building at Cabot Street and Swan Street about 2 p.m.

The fire was reportedly brought under control after about three hours late Tuesday afternoon with no reported injuries.

"Great job by the duty group today at two fires," Beverly fire said in a message posted Tuesday night. "Crews made a great stop on Chase Sreet this morning and then worked a 3-alarm fire with a wind-driven head start this afternoon on Swan Street.

"A very special thank you to the mutual aid departments that covered for both fires, the departments that provided assistance at the scene on Swan Street, the Beverly Police Officers, Northeast Regional Ambulance, and Rehab 5."

The Chase Street fire occurred in a residential house where smoke could be seen coming from the lower level.

Initial reports indicate the fire was contained in the basement.

The fire at Cabot and Swan streets occurred in the afternoon with heavy smoke coming from the 2.5 story house, according to multiple emergency services reports.

"I'm always incredibly proud to watch all these teams work together with a common goal," Beverly fire said. "Our thoughts are with the families that were displaced by the fires. The outpouring from neighbors is heartwarming.

"We're stronger together, so please take advantage of every opportunity you have to help someone in need.
