Beverly Education Foundation hosts STEAM Summit

Beverly based public and private school educators gathered for a STEAM Summit organized by the Beverly Education Foundation.

The Beverly Education Foundation hosted a STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) Summit at Endicott College for public and private school educators who are based in Beverly. The purpose of the STEAM Summit was to offer the opportunity for teachers from all schools in Beverly to meet, network,
share ideas and resources as well as collaborate on project based learning initiatives in break out brainstorming sessions. Attendees benefited from discussing STEAM based curriculum topics and sharing
feedback about how STEAM academic disciplines have progressed and will continue to develop.

The keynote speaker at the event was Trish Fleming, Director of Mentoring at North Shore InnoVentures, which is a non-profit technology business incubator helping biotech and cleantech startups increase their probability of success. Over sixty educators attended this innovative summit that included a tour of the state of the art Ginger Judge Science Center laboratories, incubator spaces, dissection table, and maker spaces. The event was attended by Dr. Gene Wong, Dean of Arts and Sciences at Endicott College, who provided the tour of the facilities.

The Beverly Education Foundation was founded in 1997 with a mission to support public education in Beverly, Massachusetts. The Foundation offers annual teacher parent grants, sponsors the annual honor a teacher program, promotes an annual fundraising appeal to support education, organizes educational events for students and professional development opportunities for educators.
