Beverly-Filmed 'Tender Bar' To Screen At Cabot Cinema Theater
The George Clooney-directed movie starring Ben Affleck includes scenes shot at Jacobs Corner Bar & Grill as the movie's "The Dickens" bar.

BEVERLY, MA — North Shore residents will get a chance to see George Clooney's "The Tender Bar" in the same downtown Beverly neighborhood where key scenes from the movie were filmed this spring.
The Cabot Street Cinema Theater is hosting a week of screening of the movie starring Ben Affleck starting Dec. 22. In March, Jacobs Corner Bar & Grill on Rantoul Street was transformed into "The Dickens Bar" for shots where Affleck was a bartender.
Clooney filmed in and around the Rantoul Street area, as well as several cities and towns throughout Massachusetts.

The movie is based on the 2005 J.R. Meohringer memoir about a boy growing up on Long Island who seeks father figures among the men who frequented Affleck's bar. William Monahan ("The Departed") adapted the screenplay from the memoir.
