Beverly Fire Crews Save Puppy From Garage Fire On Cabot Street

BEVERLY, MA — A puppy hiding behind a garage on fire on Cabot Street was safely rescued while Beverly crews doused the apparent grill fire on Saturday morning.

Beverly fire said crews responded to the blaze on Cabot Street in North Beverly shortly before noon and found "heavy fire coming from a detached garage."

During a search for anyone trapped inside, crews found a puppy hiding behind the building ablaze and were able to retrieve it.

Crews set up a water supply and hose line and suppressed the fire.

Beverly fire said: "A propane grill was pulled away from the garage and cooled off."

No injuries were reported.

Crews remained on the scene into the afternoon to assist in the investigation.
