Beverly Gets State Grant To Upgrade Fishing Pier
The grant will fund maintenance at the popular fishing spot near the harbormaster's office.

BEVERLY, MA -- Beverly was one of four Massachusetts communities to receive $50,000 in grants from the Massachusetts Department of Fish and Game’s Division of Marine Fisheries Public Access Small Grant Program. Beverly's $15,000 grant will be used for maintenance on the existing pier that allows recreational fishing on the Beverly Pier abutting the harbormaster’s office. This pier is a popular location to fish for striped bass, squid, winter flounder, and mackerel.
Funding for the grants comes from the sale of recreational saltwater fishing permits. Lynn, New Bedford and Marshfield also received grants in the current, sixth round of funding under the program.
