Beverly Harbor Fest Promises To Be A Whale Of A Time

A 43-foot inflatable whale, jet boat, a 420 sailboat and dive truck are among the top attractions for the 11th annual event.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly Harbor Fest organizers are gearing up for the 11th year of the annual Lynch Park waterfront party on Sept. 11.

The free event will run from 3 to 6 p.m. and include lawn games, food trucks, music in the shell and a beer garden at the Carriage House.

Special attractions this year include a harbormaster jet boat, a rigged 420 sailboat used by the Beverly High sail team and the Sandy Point Sailing Program, a dive truck from the Beverly Fire Department and kayaking from the Kayak Learning Center.

There will also be an inflatable 43-foot humpback whale Salt from the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary.

"Harbor Fest is for young and old alike," organizers said, "and marks the wind-down of another wonderful beach and boating season on the North Shore."

Music Street will be back to provide the entertainment, while food trucks include soul food, pizza, lobster rolls, chowder, crepes and ice cream. The Beer Garden will feature local craft breweries.

Attendees are invited to bring a blanket or chair. While overflow parking is being arranged, those attending are invited to bike or walk if convenient.
