Beverly High School Student's "Life in Death" Takes Best of School at Juried Art Show
The' grand prize-winning piece will be sent to Washington, D.C., where it will hang in the Capitol building for one year.

Peabody Veterans Memorial High School senior George Andrias has been named Grand Prize Award Winner for his piece “Bad Hair Day” in this year’s 6th Congressional District High School Art Show.
The grand prize-winning piece will be sent to Washington, D.C., where it will hang in the Capitol building for one year along with winners from other Congressional districts across the country. A ceremony to congratulate all the winners will be held in Washington, D.C. in June.
U.S. Representative Seth Moulton will present the awards from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at Montserrat College of Art’s 301 Gallery, 301 Cabot Street, Beverly. The art exhibit will be on display from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at the gallery.

The exhibition was juried by Artist Judy Schmid and Artist Lee Essex Doyle. It was open to high school students from public and private schools within the 6th District of Massachusetts, as well as high school students home-schooled within the district.Each winner will be presented with a citation from Congressman Moulton and varying levels of scholarships to Montserrat’s Summer Pre-College Program.
