Beverly Hospital Honors Volunteers At Service Awards Ceremony

Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals honored volunteers at the Beverly, Gloucester and Danvers medical facilities.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly Hospital, along with Addison Gilbert Hospital of Gloucester and Leahy Outpatient Center of Danvers, honored its dedicated team of volunteers during National Volunteer Week.

A Volunteer Service Award Ceremony for all three locations was held on April 18 at Beverly Hospital with each of the more than 50 volunteers receiving a special recognition and Presidential Coin Award from Hospital President Tom Sands.

The volunteers were also presented with a Certificate of Award for their service along with a Service Pin.

"We are immensely grateful for our dedicated volunteers whose generous gifts of time and kindness help us serve our communities," Sands said. "These individuals fill many
vital roles within our organization, from transporting our patients to snuggling our newborn babies.

"As we continue to care for our growing communities, we look forward to expanding our volunteer program and welcoming more individuals who support our mission and are committed to making a positive difference in the overall well-being of our patients and staff."

Volunteers were joined by representatives from each of the departments they serve.

There are more than 50 volunteers serving at the three locations combined, who have contributed more than 36,000 hours to the organization. The volunteers, as young as 15, include high school students, nursing students, pet ambassadors and retirees.

At Beverly Hospital, volunteer opportunities exist in endoscopy and interpreter services, at the gift shop, with the Connecting Young Moms program, and as patient ambassadors
and certified pet ambassadors.

Addison Gilbert Hospital is looking for volunteers in its senior adult unit and greeter services as well as certified REIKI practitioners and certified pet ambassadors.

Lahey Outpatient Center is seeking volunteers to provide administrative support and as certified pet ambassadors.
