Beverly To Host Week Of Juneteenth Commemoration Events

A Juneteenth flag-raising will be held on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Beverly City Hall.

BEVERLY, MA — A week of Beverly events commemorating Juneteenth will begin Thursday with the raising of the Juneteenth flag at City Hall.

The public is invited to the flag-raising that will take place at 5 p.m.

There will then be a free screening of "Origin" at The Cabot Theater on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Written and directed by Academy Award nominee Ava DuVernay, the free screening is made possible by sponsor the First Baptist Church in Beverly.

On Junteenth, June 19, The Cabot Theater will host the next Community Conversations that will include a screening of "Origins" and a discussion of the film and the significance of the Juneteenth holiday. That will begin at 7 p.m.

Both Cabot events are free but those attending the Juneteenth event should register here.
