Beverly Launches Hotline For Senior Coronavirus Vaccine Issues

The Beverly Council on Aging is available for those 75 or older eligible for a Phase Two vaccination but who do not have computer access.

BEVERLY, MA —With Gov. Charlie Baker acknowledging a rough first few days when those age 75 or older were able to register for a coronavirus vaccination in Phase Two of the state's vaccine rollout, the Beverly Council on Aging is there to help city seniors struggling to navigate the appointment system.

Baker allowed Wednesday was "very frustrating" with limited spots available and many seniors without computer access not having a way to vie for them. He said the state will soon set up a call center to help those without access to a computer.

In the meantime, those in Beverly 75 years old or older who have questions about how to sign up for the vaccine or need assistance making an appointment can call 978-921-6017 and leave a clear message with a name and contact information.

The Council on Aging said its team will return the call within 24 hours during business hours.

Those ages 65-74, who will be among the next group of residents eligible in Phase Two, are asked not to call the Council on Aging at this time so that staff can help those who currently can get an appointment.
