Beverly Man Gets Jail Time on Heroin Charges

A Beverly man arrested for heroin trafficking by Beverly Police in June will get 21/2 years in jail after pleading to a lesser charge in Salem District Court earlier this week, according to Beverly police.

Robert J. Manaster, 59, of Gage Street pleaded guilty to the reduced charge of possession of heroin with the intent to distribute.

In June, Beverly detectives recovered a large amount of heroin, an amount of marijuana, approximately $250 in cash and a cellphone.

Detectives Dana Nicholson, Darlene Prinz and William Barror, Sgt. Detective David Faustino Officers Michael Henebury, Frank Wojick, John Vitale and Manchester Police K-9 Officer Joe Archambault conducted the search.

Police also arrested 32-year-old Tristan O’Neil and charged him with being present where heroin is kept.

O’Neil is due in court again in early September.
