Beverly Mayor Cahill Pledges $1M To Start Police Station Planning
Construction could begin in 2019 on a new Police Station, said Mayor Cahill.

BEVERLY, MA — Mayor Mike Cahill pledged $1 million to start planning a new police station in his inauguration speech Tuesday.
“Our goal is to design the new station over the next 18 months and begin construction later in 2019,” he said
The police station was built in 1938, and for years officers have heard that renovations or a new station is in the works. Last year Cahill called renovation a top priority after the schools.

Last February the Salem News reported the city is looking at tentatively finishing the new, projected $20 million station in late 2021 with design work to begin in the fall of 2018 until 2019, and construction to begin in late 2019.
