Beverly Medication Disposal Day, Oct. 28

Do you have prescription drugs that need to be disposed of? Here is the perfect time to do it.

BEVERLY, MA — The Beverly Police Department, along with the health department, hospital and the Drug Enforcement Administration, is hosting a medication disposal day on Oct. 28 for residents to safely get rid of their drugs.

The event is at the CVS on 19 Dodge St. in the North Beverly Shopping Center, according to a flyer posted on the Beverly PD Facebook page, and last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

They're accepting prescription and over the counter medications, samples, vitamins, veterinary medicines and narcotics. Police are also reminding residents that both the Beverly Hospital emergency room lobby and the Beverly Police Station lobby serve as drug disposal points 24/7.

Items they're not accepting are sharps, thermometers, IV bags, bloody or infections waste, inhalers, hydrogen peroxide and personal care products.

Sharps can be disposed of 24/7 at the disposal points at the hospital and police station.
