Beverly Police Flag Unauthorized Shirts; Official Shoebert Gear Coming
Police said there have been reports of department sweatshirts being sold without approval, but "official" BPD Shoebert shirts are coming.
BEVERLY, MA — Beverly police are raising the red flag over reports that there are those attempting to sell unauthorized BPD sweatshirts with the department patch on them.
Police said these items have not been authorized for sale by Police Chief John LeLacheur or any of his designees and that the purchase of these items is strongly discouraged.
"Any person attempting to commercialize our patch or logo will be blocked," Beverly police said.

The department is planning to make more merchandise available soon — including a BPD shirt in honor of Shoebert the celebrity gray seal's journey from Shoe Pond to the Beverly Police Department in the early morning hours of Sept. 23.
Beverly police said that "official" items will be posted on the BPD Facebook page when available.
