Tires Stolen Off of Vehicle on Middle Street

The following is an excerpt from the Beverly Police Department's log:
Wednesday, April 9:
- At 1:51 a.m., police responded to a possible break-in in progress on Rantoul Street.
- At 2:22 a.m., police responded to a report of past vandalism to a vehicle on Hale Street.
- At 7:06 a.m., police and fire units responded to a fire alarm on Rantoul Street.
- At 7:21 a.m., a Middle Street resident called police to report that all four of their tires had been stolen off of their car overnight.
- At 7:42 a.m., a Grant Street woman turned over narcotics for destruction.
- At 9:06 a.m., police responded to a report of two teens threatening each other on Cabot Street. James M. Merrill, 18, of 40 Main St., North Reading, was arrested on a charge of violating the city's knife ordinance.
- At 10:20 a.m., police attempted to serve a warrant near the intersection of Story and Dearborn avenues. The wanted man took off on his bike when he saw police arrive and officers were unable to locate him.
- At 10:45 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Dodge Street.
- At 11:00 a.m., police responded to a report of a past larceny on Landers Drive.
- At 4:36 p.m., police noticed that someone had backed into a police cruiser in the parking lot of the police station on Cabot Street.
- At 5:13 p.m., police responded to a report of kids on the roof of a building on Tozer Road.
- At 5:31 p.m., police responded to a medical overdose on Cabot Street.
- At 7:06 p.m., police responded to a report of stolen bicycle on Broughton Drive.
- At 9:30 p.m., police conducted a well-being check on Rantoul Street.
- At 8:33 a.m., police responded to a report of a man looking into parked cars on Wallis Street.
- At 8:33 a.m., police made an arrest on Sohier Road. Joseph L. Thomas, 26, of 77 Sohier Road, Beverly, was arrested for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.
- At 9:29 a.m., an officer disposed of three hypodermic needles discovered near the intersection of Jordan Street and Snell Road.
- At 10:54 a.m., police conducted a well-being check on Rantoul Street.
- At 12:06 p.m., police made an arrest on Dodge Street. William A. Hodgin, 56, of 7 Beverly Commons Drive, Beverly, was arrested for reportedly having an outstanding warrant.
- At 12:51 p.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle discovered on Balch Street.
- At 2:39 p.m., police responded to a past break-in on Northridge Road.
- At 2:52 p.m., an officer disposed of a hypodermic needle discovered on Rantoul Street.
- At 3:20 p.m., police responded to a past larceny on Otis Road.
