Beverly Police To Pick Up, Dispose Of Old Medications

The Beverly Police Department will now collect old medications from residents in person.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly police will now go to residents to help them get ride of their old and unwanted medications.

Police said they will pick up and properly dispose of any old medications. Those looking for pickup can email disposal@beverlyma.gov or call Beverly police at 978-921-6040 Ext. 2533 to arrange pickup.

Medications lose effectiveness over time, but older medications can still be dangerous and addictive if they are not taken as recommended.

Medications should not be flushed down the toilet as they can get into ground water supplies.
