Beverly Primary Voters Guide
Everything you need to know to vote in the September 4 primary.

BEVERLY, MA -- State Rep. Jerry Parisella (D-Beverly) has one challenger in next Tuesday's state primary. Euplio "Rick" Marciano, who in the past has run losing campaigns for mayor, city councilor and state representative, is challenging Parisella for a second time. In 2014 Marciano ran as a Libertarian against Parisella.
Parisella is in his fourth term as Beverly's state rep and currently chairs the Joint Committee on Public Service. The winner of the primary on Sept. 4 will face independent candidate Donato Paglia in November's general election.
Marciano is proposing legislation that would require 25% of the tax revenue from new development to go towards tax relief for existing property owners. He's said if elected he would propose legislation to increase state education funding for Beverly.
