Beverly resident receives NSMC Surgery Excellence in Teaching Award

North Shore Medical Center’s (NSMC) Department of Surgery has honored Dr. Richard Goodenough with the 2013 Department of Surgery Excellence in Teaching Award. 

The Excellence in Teaching Award recipient was selected by the Massachusetts General Hospital surgical residents who complete training rotations through NSMC’s Salem and Union hospitals. They nominated the surgeon whose mentorship, teaching excellence and professionalism had the greatest positive impact on them and/or their fellow residents during their time at NSMC.

Richard Goodenough, M.D., chief of vascular surgery at NSMC, is a board-certified vascular and general surgeon and a member of the Mass General/North Shore Surgery practice in Danvers. He has been on the medical staff at NSMC for 28 years. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan Medical School and completed two residencies at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and fellowships at University of Rochester School of Medicine and Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a resident of Beverly.
