Beverly Residents Reminded To Quarantine As Close Contacts
With contact tracing efforts overextended, close contacts of someone testing positive must quarantine even if they don't get a tracer call.
BEVERLY, MA —With contact tracing efforts stretched in Beverly amid the recent rise in coronavirus cases, residents are asked to take the responsibility to quarantine if they know they were a close contact of someone who has tested positive.
Beverly Mayor Mike Cahill said those who have tested positive, or know themselves to be a close contact of someone who tested positive, may not be contacted by a tracer in a timely fashion.
"If you have been exposed to someone with COVID for 15 minutes or more within 6 feet — with or
without a mask — you are a close contact and must quarantine for a minimum of 10 days," Cahill said in a message to the community. "Please note that there is a test-out option for leaving quarantine on Day 8 that you can discuss with the health department."
