Beverly Student Named National Merit Commended Student

BEVERLY, MA — A Bishop Fenwick High School senior from Beverly was named a Commended Student in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Jessica Hynes earned a spot among the top 50,000 scorers nationwide of the more than 1.2 million juniors who took the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT).

Approximately 34,000 were named Commended Students.

In a letter recognizing the achievement, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation praised her exceptional academic promise and expressed hope that the honor would encourage her to continue developing her potential to the fullest.

She serves as President of the Fenwick DECA Chapter, is a member of the National Honor Society, and plays on the Fenwick Varsity Softball Team.

She is a graduate of The Saints Academy in Beverly.
