Beverly Students Honored At Curry, Emory, Regis, SNHU, Stonehill, WPI

BEVERLY, MA — These Beverly students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions at colleges, universities and schools across the nation.
On May 13, Brendan Horack, who majored in Interactive Media and Game Development, was bestowed a bachelor's degree at WPI's 154th Commencement. Nearly 1,100 undergraduate degrees were awarded during the ceremony.
The following students were on the WPI Dean's List for Spring 2023:

Eric DePiero, class of 2025, majoring in Management Engineering.
Ava Dickman, class of 2025, majoring in Business and Data Science.

Alexi Echevarria, class of 2024, majoring in Civil Engineering.
Joshua Klee, class of 2026, majoring in Aerospace Engineering.
Echevarria was also a member of a student team that recently completed an intense research project titled WPI Fondita Mapping to Empower.
John Ploszay and Jack Winnie were among the 548 students who graduated at Stonehill College's 72nd Commencement on May 21.
Bryce Caron, Maarten Oosterbaan, Alexa Xiarhos, Kimberly Way and Samir Ismail were named to the Southern New Hampshire University Winter 2023 President's List. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 and above for the reporting term are named to the President's List.
Justin Butters, Logan Spencer and Matthew Golin were named to the SNHU Dean's List. Students with a 3.5 grade-point average attain Dean's List honors.
Jocelyn Crawford and Laura Swindell recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Both Crawford and Swindell attend Salem State University.
Keegan Donoghue qualified for Belmont University's spring 2023 Dean's List. Dean's List eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
Curry College welcomed Conor Hanlon into the Alexander Graham Bell Honor Society.
The objective of the Alexander Graham Bell (AGB) Honor Society is to promote and recognize academic excellence at Curry College. The Society is named for the famous inventor, Alexander Graham Bell, who was an early chancellor at Curry College. It was founded in 1971 to recognize and promote academic excellence through a variety of activities at Curry.
Curry College welcomed Julia Erricola into the Education Honor Society, Pi Lambda Theta. PLT was founded in 1910. Its mission is to honor outstanding educators and inspire their leadership on critical education issues. The most selective society of its kind, PLT extends membership to students and professionals who satisfy academic eligibility requirements and have demonstrated characteristics of scholarship, leadership, and service.
Alexandra Pappas was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Pappas was initiated at San Jose State University.
Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. Graduate students in the top 10 percent of the number of candidates for graduate degrees may also qualify, as do faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
Olivia Smith was recently initiated into the Emory University Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society. The Society welcomed 787 new initiates from 32 universities during March 2023.
Students initiated into the Society must be sophomores, juniors, seniors, or graduate/professional students in the top 35 percent of their class, demonstrate leadership experience in at least one of the five pillars, and embrace the ODK ideals. Fewer than five percent of students on a campus are invited to join each year.
The following Beverly students earned degrees at Regis College:
Kimberly Regan graduated with a AS in Medical Radiography.
Thomas Brennan graduated with a MS in Nursing - Acute Care/Adult Geriatric Nurse Practitioner.
Nazareth students named to the spring 2023 Dean's List were Elizabeth Desilvestre and MacKenzie Gilligan.
A student's grade point average must be at least 3.5 or above, and they must complete 12 credit hours of graded work that semester in order to be included on the dean's list at Nazareth.
