Beverly Students Honored At Springfield, Stonehill, St. Lawrence, UNH

These Beverly students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions.

BEVERLY, MA — These Beverly students were among those recently earning academic or athletic distinctions at colleges, universities and schools across the nation.

As a St. Lawrence University research fellow, Rosie Gotsch spent eight weeks this past summer investigating intersections between affordable housing, zoning, and the climate crisis alongside Associate Professor of Education Jeff Frank.

The Research Fellowship Program provides students with a stipend to complete a research project in their area of interest that culminates in a final research paper, collection of findings, digital media, exhibitions, performance, or other types of creative projects.

Gotsch is an Environmental Studies-Sociology combined major with a minor in Educational Studies.

Natalie Eberhardt graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Hampshire in December. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies.

Students who received the honor of Summa Cum Laude graduated with a GPA of 3.85 to 4.0.

Rory Mayne Devlin, a 2019 BHS graduate, was recognized at Bowdon College's Sarah and James Bowdoin Day ceremony on Oct. 21.

He received Bowdoin's top academic award, the Almon Goodwin Prize, and was selected to join the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society. He was also the recipient of a Bowdoin Book Award for receiving a grade point average of 4.0 in his courses over the last academic year and was
selected as a Sarah and James Bowdoin Scholar for earning a spot on the Dean's List.

Emily Stilwell joined the Lasell University community this fall.

Stilwell is majoring in English.

Miranda Urbanski, a Lasell University student, presented at the institution's annual Career Readiness Symposium.

Urbanski delivered a "Microbe Mythbusters" presentation as part of their microbiology lab course. The presentation, "Is a Dog's Mouth Cleaner Than a Human's?" investigated the commonly shared misconception and created an informative poster to share scientific findings with a general audience. The presentation incorporated the NACE competencies of career & self-development and moral and ethical reasoning.

Urbanski was also named to the Dean's List for the fall semester.

Springfield College named Caeden Hale to the Dean's List for academic excellence for the 2022 fall semester. Hale has a primary major in Psychology.

Springfield College also named Hannah McCarthy to the Dean's List for academic excellence for the 2022 fall semester. McCarthy has a primary major in Art Therapy.

Jared Haight achieved academic honors for the fall 2022 semester at Nichols College.

Mark Anthony Bedetti, a junior majoring in engineering and management, was named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2022 semester at Clarkson University. Dean's List students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours.

Jay Edokpa is a member of the incoming class of 2026 at Lehigh University.
