Beverly Students Walk Out Of School To Protest Gun Violence
Although the snow day Wednesday kept them from their solidarity move Wednesday, students were out in droves Thursday.

BEVERLY, MA — At 10 a.m. Thursday, a month and a day after a shooting that killed 17 people in Parkland Florida, hundreds of students walked out of Beverly High School and down the sidewalk in a show of solidarity and support for victims of the Parkland shooting.
Students and allies (including some senior citizens who showed up to show support for students) chanted as a news helicopter hovered above and police stood nearby.
Students across the country planned to walk out of their classes Wednesday at 10 a.m. for 17 minutes in honor of the 17 people killed in the Parkland, Florida, school shooting last month. The snow cancellations in the Commonwealth meant Beverly was one of many high schools that had to reschedule.
