Beverly Theater Hosting 2019 Essex County Arts And Culture Summit

This year's event will be held at the Cabot Theater and will focus on diversity and inclusion.

The Cabot:The Cabot is pleased to announce that it will be hosting the morning portion of the 2019 Essex County Arts & Culture Summit, presented by Essex County Community Foundation (ECCF).

Part of the Foundation’s Creative County Initiative, this annual summit brings together artists, nonprofits, businesses, and the community for a full day of meaningful discussion, workshops, and networking. This year’s event will focus on diversity and inclusion, cultural space development, and the future plans for ECCF’s Creativity County Initiative. “The Cabot is extremely proud to be both a participant and a host at this year’s summit, and we’re looking forward to sharing this opportunity to learn from and engage with our community,” said J. Casey Soward, Executive Director of The Cabot. “In the same vein as our recent mural project, we’re eagerly looking to learn more about how we can empower the arts community to grow and be more inclusive of all here on the North Shore.”

The all-day event is divided into two portions, with the morning plenary session being held at The Cabot, featuring keynote speakers Jason Schupbach, Kara Elliott-Ortega and David Howse. A networking lunch, workshop sessions, and wine reception will follow in the afternoon portion, to be held at Dane Street Church in Beverly.

“We are very lucky in Essex County to have so many people that care about the important role arts and culture play in our communities,” said ECCF President and CEO Beth Francis. “The Summit is the perfect opportunity for all of these groups to come together, not only to learn from experts in the field and share ideas, but most importantly to form new collaborative partnerships that can help strengthen the arts ecosystem.”

Tickets can be found at eccf.org/arts-summit. Registration fee includes breakfast, lunch, wine reception and resource materials. As space is limited, early registration is recommended.
