Beverly Welcomes More Than $2 Million In State Grant Funding
The funding includes $750,000 for a Dunham Road roundabout and $325,375 for climate mitigation assessments at Lynch Park.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly Mayor Mike Cahill is welcoming more than $2 million in state grant funding to help offset the course of 13 projects across the city.
"We appreciate these recent grant awards which help the city of Beverly provide a wide range of essential services to our residents," Cahill said. "Grant funding helps alleviate the strain on our annual municipal operating budget, so we can fund various projects and programs that
benefit the people of Beverly."

- $750,000 MassWorks Infrastructure Program Grant. This funding supports the design of a roundabout at the Dunham Rd/Brimbal Ave/Rt 128 intersection at the Exit 46 southbound ramps. These intersection improvements will unlock approximately 70 acres of commercial-industrial zoned land and increase efficiency, safety, and access to an impacted residential neighborhood, all located on Dunham Road, a mile dead-end street.
- $400,200 Parkland Acquisitions and Renovations for Communities (PARC) Grant by the Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) to renovate and upgrade Holcroft Park.
- $325,375 Coastal Resilience Grant from the Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM) to assess the vulnerability of Lynch Park to flooding and erosion and develop resilience strategies. The project will evaluate potential impacts to the seawall and develop conceptual designs to mitigate flooding, address the drainage of floodwaters, and protect public access and amenities.
- $163,964 911 Support and Incentive Grant from the Executive Office of Public Safety (EOPSS) and Security/Office of Grants and Research (OGR). This grant funding will be used by the Beverly Police Department to assist public safety dispatch services in providing enhanced 9-1-1 service.
- $152,726 FY24 State Formula Grant from the Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA). This annual grant funding is based on 10,909 senior citizens living in Beverly (per the 2020 U.S. Census) at $14/senior and supports operations at the Council on Aging.
- $123,079.14 911 Department Training Grant from the Executive Office of Public Safety (EOPSS) and Security/Office of Grants and Research (OGR). This grant funding will be used by the Beverly Police Department for 911 training courses and overtime costs coverage as well as for training meeting space.
- $59,965 Municipal Road Safety Program Grant from the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (EOPSS) Office of Grants and Research (OGR). This funding is made possible by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and will be used for traffic enforcement campaigns with a goal of reducing vehicle crashes and the resulting injuries and loss of life.
- $50,000 Housing Choice Program Grant. This funding will be used to update the City's Sign Ordinance to provide reasonable regulations for exterior signs to bring ordinance up to date, encourage creativity, make them easy to understand, and enforceable.
- $39,000 Recycling Dividends Program (RDP) Grant through the Sustainable Materials Recovery Program (SMRP) from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection’s (MassDEP) Bureau of Air and Waste. This grant will allow the City to continue to implement eco-friendly policies that maximize recycling, composting & waste reduction programs.
- $25,000 Department of Fish & Game (DFG): Division of Marine Fisheries (DMF) Grant – Small Grants Program for improvements and repairs to the Beverly Harbor Pier at Glover Wharf.
- $24,047.61 Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) - Fire Prevention and Safety Grant. This funding will be used by the fire department to purchase new props to use when delivering public safety messages, assist with teaching adults and children about fire hazards in homes, proper usage of fire extinguishers and patches for small child education.
- $23,700 Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) Grant to support the Local Cultural Council (LCC). This funding will be used to promote education, diversity, inclusion in the arts, humanities, and sciences to foster a rich cultural life for Beverly residents and contribute to the vitality of the community and economy. The Massachusetts Cultural Council receives funding from the Massachusetts Legislature & the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The Local Cultural Council program was established in 1982.
- $15,000 Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) - Cultural District Incentive (CDI) Grant. This funding will be used to support the Beverly Arts District – a state-designated Cultural District and a partnership between the City, Beverly Main Streets, and Montserrat College of Art.
