Beverly's Cabot Theater Drops Vaccination Requirement

BEVERLY, MA — One of the first entertainment venues on the North Shore to institute a proof-of-vaccination or negative-test COVID-19 policy is easing that policy for most shows as of Sunday.

Beverly's historic Cabot Theater put its vaccination protocol in place amid the delta variant surge in August after Executive Director Casey Soward told Patch a survey of patrons and performers showed overwhelming support for the policy.

But with coronavirus cases in steep decline over the past two months from the December omicron spike, and both Boston and Salem dropping their vaccination orders for bars, restaurants and entertainment venues in recent weeks, the 101-year theater will now follow suit.

Masks remain encouraged for all patrons with some shows requiring masks at the artists' request.

Proof of vaccination or a negative test is still required for the next two shows Friday night with Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Saturday with BlieOyster Cult.

At this point, vaccination proof or a negative test will also be required to attend the March 31 Wailin' Jennys show, the April 3 Symphony By The Sea show and the April 16 Bacon Brothers show.
