Beverly's Landmark School Girls Basketball Team Donates Over $5,000 to American Cancer Society

Rallying around cancer awareness empowers school community to be a part of the solution for something that is near to their hearts

Beverly’s Landmark School Girls Basketball team raised $5,662 for the American Cancer Society during a game against the Covenant Christian Cougars Feb. 24. The Vikings collected the donations primarily through online donations and a bake sale and Wall of Hope cards during the game.

“We supported the American Cancer Society’s Coaches vs. Cancer program because it is a cause that has affected many people within our school community,” said Girls Basketball Coach Lauren Torres. “Rallying around it empowers people to be a part of the solution for something that is near to their hearts.”
