Bill Includes $2.5 Million To Renovate Beverly's Cabot Street
The funding includes $1.2 million to create a children's museum.

BEVERLY, MA -- Beverly is slated to get $2.5 million as to renovate and make improvements to the Cabot Street business corridor as part of an economic development bill awaiting the governor's signature. The bill, which includes the sales tax holiday scheduled for later this month, passed both chambers of the state legislature. Gov. Charles Baker is expected to sign the bill.
In addition to the $2.5 million, Beverly is would get $75,000 for increased costs brought by increased capacity at the Life Sciences Consortium of the North Shore run by North Shore Innoventures.
The local money is part of $500 million in the spending package that was set aside for local economic development initiatives. The bill also includes $75 million in grants for education and job training programs and $250 million for MassWorks Infrastructure grants.
